DIY Glitter Toes

I am so ready for spring.  I love to see all of the green starting to poke out in my garden and it just makes me crave warm weather.  It has been nice here the last week and I have even gotten away with not wearing my heavy coat everyday.  I love it when I can officially put my coat away and put on the flip flops.  Now you can be flip flop ready too.  No one wants to see those ugly toes that have been hidden away since last October.  This is an easy way to do your own glitter toes and this method comes off much easier then the acrylic glitter toes.  I did not get this off another blog, but it was one of my amazing sisters who taught me how to do this.

For starter please don't laugh at my toes.  I think all toes look funny and you now get to see lots of pics of my toes in lots of different angles.  LUCKY!

1. Start off by trimming those winter toe nails and make them all pretty.

2. Put one coat of nail polish on your toes.  You can choose any color you of polish you want.  When you use colored glitter a little of the polish shows through the glitter and can change the color a bit but if you are using white glitter it will take the color of the polish.  I am using and opaque white polish.

3.  For the next step just focus on one foot at a time because you will want to move quickly before the polish dries.  Apply the second coat of of polish and then pour the glitter over your toes.  It will make a little mess but if you have a glitter catch tray that works perfect or you could do it over a piece of paper.  After your toes are heavily covered tap the top of your feet to knock off the access glitter.

4.  When both feet are done take a clear top coat and apply 2 coats to secure the glitter to your nails.

5. After the polish dries you are ready for flip flops!  To remove just use your favorite polish remover.  You will have to scrub a little bit more because the glitter will stick to the nail but it is much easier then acrylic.

Try it yourself!  Send me your pictures and I will post them on my blog!

$1 store purse

Recently while at my Dollar Store I found some really fun stuff that a normal person wouldn't think to put together.  A round blue bag/purse that was pretty blah but I really liked the blue color.  A long shower scrub you use in the shower and and hair tie with a silhouette pendant.

But look at what I did with them!

It is my new little purse/handbag.  I really like how it turned out and it was supper easy to make.  I just sewed the shower scrubber to the front and trimmed off the access.  The silhouette was attached to the hair tie and I cut it off and hot glued a pin to the back and then pinned it on.  So easy and I really loved how it turned out!  What do you think?
