I love hearts! And there is no better way to decorate for Valentine's Day then with hearts!
Mandy from Sugar Bee Crafts shared a tutorial for Paper Strip Hearts and I just knew that I needed to make some! Here are her's hanging from a light fixture. ( I wish I had a fun light fixture to hang mine from)
Here are mine! They really are so fun and simple to make and would be a great craft to make with kids.
First I chose my paper. I chose some paper that touches of glitter in it and double sided patterend paper.
All my hearts I made the measurements just a little bit different so they would all vary in size but the strips were all 1 inch wide. For this particular heart the 2 small reds were 5 inches long, the pink were 6 1/2 inches long and the patterned red where 8 inches long.
Stack them as shown above and bring the bottoms of all the slips of paper together and staple.
This is kinda of the tricky part but after doing the first one it gets much easier. take 3 strips at a time and do the same thing, and bring all the ends together till they are even and then do the same to the other strips pulling them in the opposite direction. Then bring all 6 ends together, make sure they are even, and staple again.
Then you sill have your heart. To hang them with string I took a glue dot and put it down the center of the heart as much as I could, put the string on it and then pinched the center and the glue dot will hold the string. The string wont be supper strong but work just for hanging them.
My favorite thing is while they are hanging they just kind of slowly spin so they are always moving.
I hung some at my desk at work
Where will you hang yours?
