Family Rules Board

I am sure my little devils are nothing like your sweet angels but it seems like my kids are constantly fighting, yelling and jumping all over the furniture.  I am about at my wits end.  A couple weeks ago during Family Home Evening we talked about following rules and respecting each other.  We came up with a rather large list of rules that we all contributed too and then signed.

We all decided on the top 6 rules and I used those rules to create the Family Rules Board.

I used my Silhouette Cameo, gray vinyl, and an 11 x 14 cork board.

I first created what I wanted it to look like Silhouette Studio Software.

I love using vinyl.  It is so easy to use and it looks nice too.  I used the Silhouette Cameo to cut the vinyl.

It would have been difficult to put the whole thing on the cork board at once so I cut it up a little so I could apply piece by piece.

Remove the negative vinyl just leaving the words.

Take transfer tape and with the sticky side down stick it to the right side of  words.  The transfer tape allows you to move the vinyl stickers with out doing them one by one and not stretching the vinyl.

Remove the paper backing so all you have are the words stuck to the transfer tape.

It is hard to see in this picture but if you look carefully you can see the transfer tape as I was apply the words to the cork board.

Remove the transfer tape and the words stick to the cork board.  It is is magic (ok, not really.  But it does make it very easy).

I really love how it turned out!

It looks great on the wall above the Family Home Evening Board.   Now if I can just get my kids to read the board every 5 minutes!
