My oldest daughter recently turned 10. Isn't that scary! I can't have 2 kids in the double digits - that makes me old!
For her birthday she wanted to go to the local swimming pool with her friends. So that meant I wouldn't have to come up with party games and try to entertain a gaggle of silly, giggling girls. SOLD!! I was actually pretty excited for this party.
We went pretty simple since we were only coming back to the house for cake and opening presents. So I called upon my trusty Silhouette Cameo and found a cute file clothesline swimsuits to help me out.
For the invites I cut card stock into 4x6 squares, cut out the swimsuits out of different scarpbook paper, baker's twine, and used a stamp set I had on hand for the invite.
For the cake topper I used 2 bamboo skewers, bakers twine and cut out two of each swimsuit so I could glue them back to back.
Tie a piece of bakers twine between the two skewer sticks
Glue the 2 wrong sides together with the twine in between and towards the top so it looks like the swimsuits are hanging.
Tip: When in the Silhouette software make sure to mirror the second image so the fit together perfectly. I did not do this and the two pieces did not match like I would have liked.
It already looks cute and it isn't even on a cake yet!
Doesn't it look even cuter when it is on the cake!
My daughter had a lot of fun at her birthday party, and that is the most important part!
