You guys are AMAZING! Last week there were 129 Links! I love browsing through the party and seeing what everyone has been up to.

These are the top clicked on links!

Our Pinteresting Family shared a tutorial on how to make a chair from a pallet.  It turned out great, I want one!

A lot of you must be wanting to sit because here is a bench made by Alderberry Hill.  It was made from a headboard & foot board.  I love the bright yellow color!  I would take one of these too.

When you are sitting so much you might as well be doing something else too.  Maybe try eating these amazing looking Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Muffins made by a pumpkin and a princess.

Wow you guys were really all in-sync this week!

Precious Sleep

Is it my nap time yet?

When I was a wee little one I was always so jealous of the adults that didn't have a  bed time.  They could play all day if they wanted!  It wasn't fair!

Ahhhh isn't the 4 yr old me cute!

Now that I am all grown (that sounds weird saying that in my head), there are so many days I would give almost anything for a nap.  I didn't know how good I had it.  But isn't that how it usually is?

I never really thought I was a busy person, but recently a good friend of mine had a hard time getting a hold of me and we started a similar conversation.  That is when I began to tick off everything I do in a week.  I work a full time job at 40 hours a week.  I am a craft blogger that has committed to posting 4 times a week (sometimes more) so I have to have time to write the posts, create what I am going to write about, AND blog up keep.  My oldest two are in soccer and they have two games a week.  I have a calling at my church that requires weekly prep time.  I try (yes try, because I don't always make it) to go for a couple mile run 3 times a week.  Plus, I am still a Mom, a Wife and have all the duties of having a house (although I must admit, everyone pitches in so I by no means do everything).  That is when I came to the conclusion that
 I am just plain busy!

When did that happen?

So because I am so busy sleep has become a very important.  I have had to give myself a bed time of 10:30 PM.  If only I could go back and tell my younger self that when I was older I would give myself a bedtime - although I don't think I would have believed it.  I was maybe, just a little stubborn.
Here is a special coupon for all my readers that enjoy sleep as much as me Smithsfoodanddrug.com/zzzquil

Why Didn't I Think Of That? 24 Useful Tips

Have you ever seen someone doing or using something in a total practical way that you have never seen before.  It usually deserves a smack to the forehead followed by a "Why didn't I think of that?".

Get ready for a post that is chock-full of super simple tips!  You may need to tie a pillow to your forehead so you don't bruise!  (If any of you actually do that - I want a picture!)

If no link is shown it means I could not find the original source so none was given

Fridge Magnet Cups.  The kids wont need to get a new cup out every time they need a drink!

Natural Cleaning Tips for the Bathroom.  Clean hard water stains with a lemon!

Use empty Toilet Paper Rolls as Gift Wrap Savers!

Dice shakers.  Great for travel games or for smaller hands!

Soap Box Organizer.  These little boxes are the perfect size to hold card games!

Use a Staple Remover to save your nails when adding or removing a key from a key chain!

Glass Bowl Amplifier. Makes your iPod/iPhone speaker louder all on its own!

The Parmesan Lid fits on a regular canning jar!

Box Spring Cover.  Use a fitted sheet on the box spring! DUH!

Put a Wooden Spoon over a pot of boiling water and wont boil over!

Put Hot Glue on your hanger and it will keep your clothing from slipping off!

Cell Phone Charger Holder.  Recycle a plastic bottle into this supper nifty holder!

Use a Dust Pan to fill another container with water from a bathroom faucet!

Cord Labels.  Use those little plastic bread closure things (do they even have a real name?) and label the different computer cords!

Use a Suspension Rod to organize your cleaners underneath your counter

Make a Cell Phone Number Bracelet for when you are in busy areas like amusement parks or the zoo!

Use Vaseline as Fingernail Polish Prep. No more polish on the area around your nail!

Recycle a plastic bottle to make a faucet extender for smaller hands!

Rub a clean Chrome faucet with wax paper and it will keep the water spots away!

Sparkler Shield.  Use a plastic cup to help shield little hands from those hot sticks!

Poke holes into the lid of a Milk Jug and you have a recycled watering container!

Put a rubber band around a Cut Apple to keep the pieces together and you wont have brown icky pieces at lunch time!

Use dollar store Wiffle Balls to make beautiful flower balls.  Just push the stem through the holes!

Use Pure Acetone (fingernail polish remover) to remove the ink on plastic containers so you can reuse them!

So how are you doing?  Do you feel like an idiot like I did when I saw some of these things?  Well don't feel like an idiot.  Now you know.  And when you are doing one of these tips someone close to you will say "Why didn't I think of that!?" Then you can be the clever one.

Money "Stache" Jar Wedding Gift

Last weekend my niece got married.  And there was no way The Crafty Blog Stalker was just going to give a couple towels.  I wasn't exactly sure what I was going to do until I saw these cute glass jars at Target.

It was a perfect size for a cookie/treat jar.  Now the jar is cute by itself but I can't leave cute enough alone.

I went to my trusty Silhouette and cut out of vinyl a mustache and the word our.  For Our Stache.  I didn't want to use my stache (even though I know it is closer to the real word mustache - my stache) because they were getting married and so they come together, so I used the word our.  Yes, I know I over think things  :)

I applied the vinyl to the jar.  Then came the fun part of filling the jar.

We got a couple bags of chocolate and then 40 singles to fill the rest of the jar.  My original thought was to roll all of the singles up with ribbon by my husband said there was no way that would fill the jar, and after experimenting with a few I realized that he was right.  Man I hate when that happens!  So we just crinkled up the bills instead and put them in.

Here is a close up of the "Our Stache" in vinyl on the jar.

Tied with some rope around the top.

Now what newlywed wouldn't love a jar of cash?  I am not a newlywed and I know I would like one!

Do Over 5K Update

Last week I posted my I Scream DO OVER moment.

I ran my 5K on Saturday and thought I would update you on how I did.

The day before the race I ate as I should.  I ate a heavier lunch, a pretty light dinner and I drank tons of water.  No soda! That in it's self was a huge accomplishment for me, I am not a big water drinker.  That is the same stuff that they put in toilets and that is just gross!

Morning of I ate a very light breakfast of a banana - I don't like a lot of food in my stomach when I run but I did want something to go off of.

Right before the race started I felt good and I was ready to go.

I ran the entire first mile and then I started to get hot.  I don't do good when I get hot.  The second mile I pushed myself and ran some and walked some.  By the last mile I was done.  I was hot, tired and very disappointed in myself.

I finished the race in 42:37.8 which is my worst time ever.  But I did finish.

Even though I am disappointed in my self I am not giving up.   Just means I need to work a little harder to get back where I was.

I am going to rock my next 5K!

My 11 year old son did the kids 1/2 mile run and got 2 place.  I was very proud of him, he did a great job.

If nothing else I am hopefully teaching my kids to be healthy and never give up and that makes it all worth it!

I Scream DO OVER!

Have you ever had one of those moments when you just want to scream "DO OVER!" and go back in time?

Last year I took up running.  I used to say "how is that fun?" but after working and building on it for several months last year it did become fun and I completely became addicted to running.  It was great; I was losing weight, and felt confident.  I ran several 5Ks and a 10K.

Here I am at my first 5K last year with my sister, the start of the race and at the finish line.

Then it got cold and I started to slack, I slacked a little more, I slacked a lot and then I completely stopped running.   Fast forward to now, it is gorgeous outside and I am running again, and IT SUCKS!  It is not fun, it hurts.  It doesn't make me feel good, I am tired!  I am at that point where I want to scream "DO OVER!" and go back and make myself at least maintain all that I had worked so hard for.  But I keep pushing myself because I know if I keep pushing myself it will become fun again.

This is what Frigidaire has to say about Do Overs:  The Frigidaire Gallery™Dishwasher gets dishes fully cleaned the first time, so there are no dish do-overs. Nearly half of adults admit to re-washing and/or re-drying dishes after the dishwasher cycle has been completed. To prevent dishwasher do-overs, Frigidaire® is stepping in with its new Gallery® Dishwasher featuring the OrbitCleanTM Wash Arm, ensuring dishes are cleaned right the first time.

Since I didn't do it right the first time I am going to kick my butt to get it right the second time so I don't have to go through this again.

AND I have my first 5K of this year this Saturday to help motivate me and keep me going.

Wish me luck!
