Top 10 Posts of 2012

It seems that the older I get the faster time flies and 2012 was no exception.

2012 is over so I thought it might be fun to look back over the year at my top 10 most viewed posts.  To me, I picture it all very suspenseful with large red velvet curtain revealings and a drum roll, but if you don't picture it that way I guess I will still let you see the top 10, it just wont be as much fun.

Have a Very Merry Christmas!

I was so excited for the long weekend off work because I was going to get caught up on all of my blogging and get so much done.

But...

I have just been having too much fun with my family.

I hope you have all had an amazing Christmas, and were able to spend the time with friends and family too.

Our Christmas was fabulous and we were all spoiled rotten.  I am so thankful for my little family and all that we have.

Due to the holidays I will not have any new projects posted until next week.

Merry Christmas!

Fast & Easy Silhouette Gift Card Holder

Christmas Gift Card Tutoriual

I am really not a fan of giving gift cards for Christmas (which is really quite strange because I LOVE receiving them), but I have some friends and family that I want to buy for but I never know what to get them.  So I have been known to resort to the trusty gift card.  To me, I feel like I have given up and wasn't willing to put forth the effort, (which my husband reminds me is crazy because again, I love gift cards).

So to make up for my lack of a perfect gift, I at least want to make the gift card look pretty and presentable.

Adding Lamps to your Home Decor

When it comes to decorating my home, I love color.  When we first moved into our home I painted the entire living room a dark forest green.  I had many question my sanity but I absolutely loved it.

I loved the green but I also LOVE to change things up, and in July 2011 (after a thick coat of primer) the green became a light blue.  You may even remember my stencil wall that was a lot of work but I loved how it turned out.

When I decided to change the colors of my living room I found this color swatch and absolutely loved it and wanted to find a way to bring more of these colors into the room.

This is where Color + Plus artisan made glass lamps comes into play.

Color Plus colored glass lamps

There are over 60 base colors to choose from

And you can also choose the shade that best fits you (or your room)!

I love the Chevron but I think for my Living Room the Circle Rings shade would go better.

It is so fun to go in and just play with all of the different color and shade combinations. I am sure you will have no problem finding the lamp that fits you and your style perfectly, so you can bring a little color into your decorating too!

White Elephant Gift Exchange

I know I have said it before, but man I love my family!

Every year we get together a little bit before Christmas and we have a BIG Family Home Evening.

We bring food and have dinner together.

And my very favorite part of the night is the White Elephant Gift Exchange.  We do a nice one with the younger kids, which usually includes gifts from the dollar store so no one is too disappointed.

Kid Gift Exchange

But then it is the adults turn, and we aren't at all nice.  We strive to find the stupidest, silliest gift we can find or make.

Adult Gift Exchange

I was really very proud of my White Elephant gifts this year.  I made 2, one for me and one for my husband.

For the first I got a tile at Home Depot for less then $1 and used my Silhouette and made this beautiful tile that anyone would be happy have in their home.

Home; where the Ho and Me come together

My 18 year old niece originally got it but it was stolen a couple times until in landed in the hands of the newlyweds who just happened to buy a house.

The other gift was probably my favorite but didn't get opened until almost last.

Tampon Angel

At first it looks like a nice little angel ornament.  After it was opened someone even commented that it was too nice of a gift for this exchange.

There was a poem inside that box that read.

I'm your little visiting angel, pretty as a swan.

I'll decorate your tree or wreath from dusk until the dawn.

I know that every month you'll think of me and put a smile on.

I'll even be hanging around when you crave a box of bon bons.

Now I guess you've figured out, and no your are not wrong...

Someone found another use for a Playtex Tampon.

We just have way too much fun together!

Neighbor or Teacher Gift; Santa Treat Boxes

Neighbor or Teacher Gift

I love making little treat boxes to give to my kid's teachers, work friends and neighbors.  I think there is something so much more personal in a small hand made gift.

The original idea (that I obviously copied) came from Karina's Kreations.

Butter Caramel Sticky Popcorn Recipe

Oh how we love Sticky Popcorn!  This is one of my kids favorite treats.  We make it all year long and love to share it with friends and neighbors.

The actual name of this recipe is Buttery Carmel Corn and I got it from my sister Tracy.  I wish I could remember which of my kids started calling it Sticky Popcorn but for whatever reason, the name stuck.

I love winning but I think it is just as much fun to give the prizes away! So I am excited to tell you we have a winner the Doodle Deco Memo Board!

Wii Just Dance Disney Party Review

Thank you to Ubisoft for sponsoring this post. Please click here to learn more about Ubisoft. I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective. #UbiChamps

I know I have said before but my kids (and myself included) are big fans of the Just Dance Games.

Just Dance Disney Party is a game that we can all play together as a family, but is also a great game to play when the friends are over.  And it doesn't matter the age, everyone will have fun.  Whether they are playing or just standing back and watching all of the silliness.

Just Dance Disney Party includes many songs from Disney Favorites like Bibbidi Bobbido Boo from Cinderella and Something that I Want from Tangled.  It also includes songs from shows on the Disney Channel like Calling All The Monsters from A.N.T. Farm and Hoedown Throwdown from Hanna Montana.

Here are my kids dancing to Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious from Mary Poppins.

Did you see that?  They were actually playing all together and they weren't fighting!  AMAZING!

You can play up to 4 players but even if there aren't enough Wii-motes to go around it is still fun to get in on all the dancing action.

Overall my kids had a lot of fun playing it and I have seen it played since the initial game play, and that is always a sign of a good game.

And I don't think this cute little toothless grin would lie to you!

You can purchase your own Just Dance Disney Party on Amazon.com or ToysRUs.com, and it is also available for the XBox 360 Kinect.
