Valentine Gift Post-It Note Holder

Valentine Gift Post-It Note Holder

I  just love Valentines day! Don't you?

Now I know it may feel like you still have a ton of time to get your Valentine gifts and projects done.  But it is only a few short weeks away!

I love making small handmade gifts and Valentines Day is the perfect excuse to make them for my friends and my kid's teachers.

This project is really quite simple and you don't need much in supplies or tools to make it.  You need
  • 8 1/2 x 11 card stock
  • Post-It Notes
  • Mini Pens
  • Paper Trimmer
  • Simply Scored
  • Big Shot (optional)
Start by cutting a sheet of card stock into strips of paper that are 3 1/2 x 8 1/2.  You will have one little strip left over that can be thrown away.

Take the strip of paper and score at 3 1/2, 4 and 4 1/2 inches. At 3/4 inch from each side cut a straight line across the scores.  This is for the pen holder.

On the outer edges fold inward and fold outward on the center score.

You will notice that one half is slightly longer then the other half.  This is not a mistake, it is supposed to be that way.  Put glue on the outer pieces on the bottom of the fold and adhere it to the side of the piece of paper that is just a bit longer.  I prefer glue dots but you can use whatever you fancy.

It should look like this.

To stick the Post-It note to the inside you will want to use a tackier glue.  I love my Scotch gun and that totally does the trick.  I just put a strip down each side of the back of the Post-It Note.

Then comes the fun part of decorating!

I made lots of these Cute Punch Art Owls earlier this week and used them as the main embellishment on the cover.  You can click on the link to check out the tutorial!

I also used some stamps and an ink pad to create a fun little greeting on the holder.

When it is all put together it looks like this!

Isn't it cute?!

I made lots and LOTS of them.  I really hope all of my friends like them!

  9. I am definitely going to make one for my boyfriend. Of course there will be another gift too. I think when I make a handmade gift like this, it is much more personal. Hope he will like it.

  12. This is a lot of fun! This would be really handy to stick on the fridge - I am forever running around while I'm on the phone trying to find a pad and paper to write something down on.
